Follow Our Year-Round Boat Care Maintenance Tips

If you’re looking for boat cleaning tips or are interested in learning how to clean a boat, Boatline.com can help. Proper boat maintenance involves keeping a checklist and being diligent in examining your vessel. Be sure to flush the engine, fill the gas tank on your way back, and wash the boat and trailer using soap and water. Scrub with a non-skid cleaner, then dry all metal, glass and flat surfaces. Always cover the boat from the sun, rain and elements.

You should wax every few months, using Rain-X on glass. It is recommended that you replace spark plugs, clean the fuel filter, change the lower unit oil and grease the engine/drive via the zerc fittings every 75 hours. As part of longer-term boat care maintenance, you should replace the impeller and fuel/water separator every 150 hours.

You should always inspect everything before taking your boat out and upon return as well.
