Place ads for new or used boat classified ads, including ads for ski boats, wakeboard boats, sailboats, yachts, boat trailers and more. Our boat advertising list of frequently asked questions below is designed to help you create and maintain your new or used classified ad, and answer questions about costs and technical details of your new or used boat classified ad.

What Does Boat Advertising on Boatline Cost?

Ads are Free for 4 weeks, or your ad can run UNTIL IT SELLS for only 0.00!
The until sold ad includes up to 12 pictures. All ads also receive unlimited updates, free customer support, and no word limit on your item description.

You can add the following extra visibility or priority options to your ad at very low cost:

  • Bold text, $5.00
    Make your ad more noticeable by adding bold text to your search results — it will stand out among the other ads.
  • Bold and red text, $10.00
    Even more eye-catching than regular bold text!
  • Featured Homepage Priority Ad, $15.00
    Give your ad maximum display exposure with a Featured Homepage ad. Your ad will be featured on our home page "Front Row" section on a rotational basis, and will be seen by thousands of people before they even start searching!
  • Featured State Priority Ads give your ad state search priority. With a Featured State Priority ad, your ad will be featured on the top of search results for all searches in your state on a rotational basis. BonusFeatured State Priority is now included with Featured Homepage Priority at no extra cost!

How Do I Upload Images To My Ad?

In order to upload images to your ad, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Login" tab — you'll find it near the top right of every page, or...
  2. ...if you're already logged in, click on the "Hi [ your username ]" tab near the top right of all pages.
  3. In My Boatline Account Manager, you should see your ad listed below the account menu.
  4. Click on the “Edit Pictures” link for the ad you would like to edit.
  5. Click the "Browse" button to navigate to the picture you want to upload.
  6. Repeat for all of your Pictures.
  7. Click on the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page when you are done selecting pictures. Depending on the size of your file and the speed of your internet connection, it may take a minute or two to upload. If you are having problems try uploading fewer pictures at one time.

Your changes will take effect immediately. In order to view them in your browser, you may have to refresh your page.

If you are having trouble getting your images successfully uploaded, it usually means they are in the wrong format. Here are the specifications for the site:

IMAGES: * must be in .GIF or .JPG format

If after trying the above you still cannot get them uploaded, you can send them to us and we will post them for you.

By Email: The quickest way is to email the images to . Please include your Ad Number in the Subject or Body of your message.

By Mail: Send the images, with your Ad Number clearly marked, by mail to:

Do I need to Renew My Ad?

Free ads run for 4 weeks before expiration, after which time the ad will need to be upgraded to the $35 Run Until Sold option in order to stay active. Ads can be placed for free only once, and cannot be renewed for any additional free 4 week periods.

Boatline's Run Until Sold ads do not have to be renewed, and you do not have to contact us periodically for your ad to remain active.

However, it is important to update your ad status when your boat sells or you no longer need your ad to be displayed. You can login to your account or contact us to remove your ad or mark it as "Sold!".

How Do I Modify My Ad?

In order to edit or modify your ad on Boatline.com, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Login" tab — you'll find it near the top right of every page, or...
  2. ...if you're already logged in, click on the "Welcome [ your username ]" tab near the top right of all pages.
  3. In My Boatline Account Manager, you should see your ad listed below the account menu.
  4. Click the “Edit Ad” link.
  5. Make the changes to your ad.
  6. When you're finished, click “Update Listing” at the bottom of the page.

How Do I Search The Site?

The "Search" tab in the main menu near the top of every page (just below the Boatline logo) will take you to our advanced search form. You can search by Type of Boat, Location, Make, Model, Price, Length, or you can use the keyword field to search for particular features a Boat may have.

There is also a simplified key word search tool at the top of every page, just below the main menu.

How Do I Retrieve My Username And Password?

Please enter your email address here and an automated email containing your login information will be sent to you shortly.

How Do I Find Boat Pricing Information?

You can check prices of used boats by doing the following: 1. Clicking on the NADA Guides link on right side of the page. NADA Guides have information for all types of used Boats, you can go to their site directly at NadaGuides.com.

How Will Potential Buyers Contact Me?

Buyers will contact you through the information that you submit (phone number, e-mail) when you register. A person with an inquiry can click on the link "Email Seller" in the details section of your ad. They will then enter their email address and any questions or offers they have for your listing. This inquiry will be sent directly to your email address. The buyers can also contact you by telephone if you choose to display that information.

What Do I Do If My Boat Is Sold?

If you sell your boat please let us know, you can contact us including your ad number and someone will mark the Boat as sold. You also may delete or modify your ad at anytime by logging into the user area.

What Is Auto Notify?

The Auto-Notify feature allows you to set up a personal search agent that will automatically send you new ads that match the keywords that you define.

How Do I Keep Track Of My Favorite Ads?

The Favorites feature allows you to keep track of all of your favorite ads. In the details of every ad there is a link labeled" save this search" on the top of the ad. By clicking on this box, the ad will be added to your user account under favorites in the user area.

When I Placed An Ad I Had A Duplicate Ad, Did I Pay For Two?

No, you will not pay for two ads. This error may occur if you use your browser's "Back" button when placing an ad. Our payment system will not charge you for a duplicate ad, but if you notice this error please contact us and will will delete the duplicate for you.
