2008 Com-Pac 14 Picnic Cat

WILL BUILD TO ORDER - UP TO 2 MONTH LEAD TIME The Picnic Cat is from the drawing board of Clark Mills, designer of our former 16 CB and our 23/3, and well known also as the designer of the Optimist Pram and the Windmill One Design. Unlike her sister Com-Pacs the Picnic Cat has a centreboard rather than a keel. With her centerboard up she is beachable. Her broad hull form and the low center-of-effort of her gaff-rigged sail make her very stable. And her huge self-bailing cockpit and ample stowage offer unsurpassed comfort in a small, easily handled package. She's built of solid, hand-laid glass, with aluminum spars and stainless centerboard. In addition, the exclusive Mastendr™ mast raising system revolutionizes the trailer-boating experience. The Picnic Cat™ is a 14 foot, gaff-rigged catboat that is a pure delight to sail. But it is our Mastendr™ Quick Rig Sailing System that makes it unique. Setup and retrieval are effortless – a matter of less than 10 minutes – because gaff, boom, sail and hinged mast remain on the boat while trailering, as do the shrouds. All that’s necessary at the launch ramp is to raise the mast, attach the headstay with the quick release lever and sail off. It’s as simple as that. On the road, the mast, gaff and boom stow securely on the boom gallows, assuring worry-free trailering. Unlike a sloop’s, her mast, because it steps in the bow of the boat, does not extend beyond the end of the boat when folded to horizontal. In the water, her stability comes from broad hull form and low-center-of-effort-gaff-rigged sail plan. The centerboard and centerboard trunk in the Picnic Cat are made of stainless steel. This unit is a subassembly that is built in our machine shop and then installed into the bottom of the Picnic Cat. By building the unit in the machine shop, we are able to build every one exactly the same, and stay within machining tolerances vs. the large tolerances required for a fiberglass assembly. Also, the stainless steel centerboard assembly is much stronger and many times less susceptible to damage than traditional fiberglass centerboards. The trunk is fitted over with a varnished, solid mahogany box in the finished yacht. If you are familiar with Com-Pac Yachts, you’ll know what we mean by Com-Pac quality. If not, think of solid, hand-laid glass, elegant varnished mahogany, sold teak, brass rubrails, flawless stainless and bulletproof construction. The Picnic Cat’s timeless design is from the drawing board of Clark Mills, who drew the lines of our 16CB and 23/3 as well as the Optimist Pram and Windmill One Design. 1984 Lancer 30 MK-V

The C & C designed Lancer 30 MK-V is an exciting performer that is incredibly spacious; she's a sloop rig, shoal draft (a $6,000 option), and skeg mounted rudder design. A Bruce Farr inspired, high-power ratio fractional rig and sail plan produce a very high sail area-to-displacement ratio, yet the 30 is easy to sail because there are no complicated runners. Easy-to-handle headsails and a mainsail large enough to drive the boat alone with complete control make for effortless cruising. She has a slightly higher fore-triangle height compared to mainsail luff gives more direct control of forestay sage and makes backstay adjustments less critical. The Lancer 30 is equipped with standard internal halyards, internal jiffy reefing system for two-reefs, and an internal outhaul complete this rig. A unique feature of the layout is a private aft cabin with a large double berth. Her well-equipped galley includes over 15-square feet of counter space, an eight cubic foot icebox, double stainless steel sink, two-burner gimbaled stove with an oven and cutting board top, six roomy drawers, and lots of locker space. The spacious main salon, which boasts a teak interior, with teak and holly sole throughout, rivals the size of many 35-footers, and features new light teal colored carpeting (removable), and a plush-upholstered lounge that converts to an extra-long double berth, a solid teak drop-leaf table, cane panel locker doors, an enclosed head compartment aft, and two five-foot bookcase alcoves. “Symphony” is powered by a 16-hp Yanmar diesel engine that propels a sail drive, which eliminates the propeller shaft. Many other features make this well-maintained, original owner boat easy to sail and care for. “Symphony” is a must-see for the serious cruiser family. She’s ready to sail away, so please give us a call for more details or an appointment to view this beautiful boat. 1982 Unspecified American Mariner 30

If you are looking for a very roomy and comfortable 30 foot boat to sail or to live on - this is your vessel. Like the big boats she features a pedestal steering in the cockpit. She has a 3.5 foot draft and tabernacle mast meaning this boat could also be trailered. With a galley that competes with those on much larger boats and plenty of storage this is a unique opportunity to own a versatile and roomy sailboat for very little money. Accommodations This is an extreamly roomy and comortable boat - capable of being lived on. There is a double V berth forward and a dinette that converts to a double, with a single settee berth and a quarter berth - capable of sleeping 6 people. Moving aft from the V berth, there is a hanging locker to starboard and the enclosed head with shower and sink to port. The head is new and the holding tank and hoses are also new. In the main salon the dinettee will seat four comfortably and there is a great deal of storage under and behind both the settee and the dinette. There is another large locker aft of the settee on starboard and the quarter berth is furthest aft on starboard. The galley is to port. The upholstry and cushions are all new and represent a $5000 investment. Galley This galley is comparable to those on much larger boats. It features a double stainless steel set of sinks, a new electric two burner stove, a 110/12 V refrigerator, a GE microwave oven, hot and cold pressure water and there is a great deal of storage space above, below and behind in the galley. Electronics In addition to the West Marine VHF, there is a full compliment of enertainment electronics including a 200 watt Stereo CD player, Memorex DVD-CD player, 13 inche flat screen Zeneth TV in the salon on a adjustable mount, and a 7 inch flat screen TV in the V berth. Electrical There is a new 40 amp main breaker system in the boat and a set of new batteries. The boat has a standard set of lighting including cabin lights, running lights and motoring light. The boat was rewired. Deck There is a danforth anchor on the bow with chain and rode and a smaller danforth on the stern. The bottom was done at the end of 2007. The Richie compass is lighted.
