In her day, the Hatteras 53 Convertible was the industry standard for fishing yachts of 50' or more. She is very well proportioned with a long foredeck and low freeboard that is the perfect design for offshore fishing and, of course cruising! In June of 2015, a renovation was completed including new wood plank flooring, cabinetry, granite counter tops throughout and a modern design for the baths. The lighting was also updated throughout the vessel. Prior to the renovation the engines were rebuilt in 2014. The Hatteras was painted, top to bottom with nonskid Awlgrip paint. Two new stereo systems with speakers throughout the vessel were added, one for the Salon and one for the Flybridge. The Aft Deck storage compartments were renovated and new cushions for the seating areas were added for the aft deck and the upper Helm. Additional renovation details are listed at the conclusion of the "Description". There were a few different floor plans originally offered for the Hatteras. This particular vessel had a 2 Stateroom, Galley down configuration. During her renovation the owner moved the galley up to the Salon and added a 3rd Stateroom. It's a great design and an excellent use of space. Now when you enter the Salon from the aft deck, the Galley is starboard. There is a recessed sink and stove, granite countertops and fine cabinetry. Port side is a couch that is positioned perfectly to view the counter-top mounted 40" smart TV. Forward in the Salon are mirrored cabinets that camouflage the presence of a microwave, the AC electric panel, the stereo system for the Salon and Staterooms with individual speaker controls for each room. The Salon is complete with well-appointed LED lighting including rope lights for evening atmosphere. The plank wood flooring is a rich accent to the Salon presentation. Moving forward to the lower deck, the wood plank flooring continues. The Master Stateroom is port with a full bath, granite countertops and a modern " glass bowl" sink
