2001 Sea Ray 460 Sundancer , Boat, Boats\Power Boat\Fishing Boat, Great Loop Boat for Sale
2001 Sea Ray 46 SunDancer
The boat has spent its entire life on Lake Michigan (with winters in heated storage) and been
meticulously maintained. The current owners purchased the boat in July 2021 and spent over
$79,000 in upgrades, repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance to make it a great boat for
the great loop. The great loop trip was started from Holland, Michigan on October 9, 2021.
After traveling 4,000 miles the boat is currently Annapolis, MD.
Upgrades to Make the Boat Great Loop Ready:
Bow Thruster $19,600
The SE150/215T, 24V Twin Props is a heavy duty bow thruster designed to be able to
maneuver the boat in high winds and currents. Perfect for tight marina slips and the locks on
the great loop.
Complete Electrical System Upgrades $17,400
The entire house electrical and charging system was designed and upgraded for the great loop
trip. The upgrades were designed to allow the boat to anchor for 1-2 days without running the
generator and then recharge the house bank after a 5 hour run on the loop via two new high
output alternators to allow another 1-2 nights at anchor, all without running the generator.
All batteries were replaced (2 dedicated 8D start batteries, 2 bow thruster batteries, generator
battery, 5 Firefly house batteries). New Victron Inverter/Charger, Victron battery monitor, 2
Automatic Charge Control Relays, 2 high output alternators with dedicated smart voltage
regulators, new cables, switches, fuses, etc.
This was a complete electrical upgrade designed for a great loop boat that can spend typical
anchor time on the route with minimal generator usage.
Aft Deck Enclosure $12.800
Old enclosure replaced with new 1/4” SS frame and Eisenglass/Screen panels turning the aft
cockpit into a three season room with heat and A/C.
Fiberglass and Gel Coat Repairs/Touch Up $4,700
Swim platform fiberglass repair and cosmetic touch up around the boat.
Preventative/Predictive Maintenance and Upgrades $16,300
All systems were inspected and maintenance performed even if not required so that I would
know all systems are up to date at the start of the loop including the following:
• Engines - Hoses replaced, new impellers, all fluids and filters replaced (fuel, oil, coolant,
transmission), oil sample taken, new alternator belts, new belt tensioning arms, port starter
motor, zincs, etc. There was minimal corrosion due to the fresh water usage and heated
storage in winter. We have run 2,200 miles from Holland, Michigan to Ft. Myeres with no
engine issues.
• Plumbing - All valves and seals in the Vacu-Fush system were replaced. A new discharge
pump was installed and the sea cock serviced. Two new Dometic Eco Tank Maloder
